ULAY FOUNDATION

Established in the Netherlands in 2014 by the artist himself, ULAY Foundation is dedicated to preserving and promoting the historically unique oeuvre and legacy of the legendary artist, ULAY. Operating between ULAY's two cherished cities, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Ljubljana, Slovenia, the Foundation embodies the spirit of his creative journey 1 and multifaceted artistic practice.
Mission and Activities
Led by custodian Lena Pislak, the Foundation meticulously archives and contextualizes ULAY's groundbreaking work in performance art, photography, and beyond. It facilitates scholarly discourse through research, publications, and educational initiatives. The Foundation also actively organizes exhibitions and produces catalogues to ensure that ULAY's artistic contributions endure and reach a wide audience.
Collaborations and Partnerships
ULAY Foundation collaborates with esteemed galleries internationally, including SPURS Gallery in Beijing, China, and Charim Gallery in Vienna to foster international dialogue and appreciation for ULAY's artistry, ensuring his work is exhibited and contextualized within diverse cultural contexts.
Furthermore, the ULAY Foundation maintains a close relationship with the Abramović Institute, reflecting a shared commitment to preserving the artistic legacies of both ULAY and Marina Abramović. This collaboration ensures the continued appreciation and study of their influential collaborative works, which shaped the landscape of performance art.

ULAY is represented by SPURS Gallery in Beijing, China and Charim Galerie in Vienna, Austria.
